Head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko said that the prevalence of smoking among adults in Russia has decreased in 2021, TASS reports.
“The prevalence of smoking in our country is declining. So, if in 2009 39.5% of adults smoked, then in 2020 the prevalence of smoking was 21.5%, and in 2021 it was 20.3%, — he said.
Murashko added that the number of smokers in the Russian Federation decreased by 6% over the year.
Recall that from January 28, 2021, in Russia banned the remote sale of nicotine-containing products and devices for its consumption.
The head of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Dmitry Svishchev proposed a complete ban on electronic cigarettes in the country.
