Russia launched a military special operation in Ukraine more than five months ago, on the night of February 24th. President Vladimir Putin justified his decision by the desire to “restore statehood” LNR and DNR, to protect the inhabitants of Donbass from “genocide” and carry out demilitarization and “denazification” a neighboring state.
Ukraine responded by imposing martial law, declaring a general mobilization and breaking off diplomatic relations with Russia. Representatives of 141 out of 193 countries in the UN General Assembly condemned the actions of the Russian authorities, demanded a ceasefire and withdrawal of troops.
